1 Jesus said, “If those who lead you say to you, ‘Look, the kingdom is in heaven,’ then the birds of heaven will precede you.
2 If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you.
3 Rather, the kingdom is inside you and it is outside you.
4 “When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living father.
5 But if you do not know yourselves, then you dwell in poverty, and it is you who are that poverty.”

1 Jesus says: “If those who lead you say to you: ‘Look, the kingdom is in the sky!’ then the birds of the sky will precede you.
2 If they say to you: ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fishes will precede you.

4 “When you come to know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will realize that you are the children of the living Father.
5 But if you do not come to know yourselves, then you exist in poverty, and you are poverty.”

1 His followers questioned him and said to him, “Do you want us to fast? How should we pray? Should we give to charity? What diet should we observe?”
2 Jesus said, “Do not lie,
3 and do not do what you hate,
4 because all things are disclosed before heaven.
5 For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed,
6 and there is nothing covered up that will remain uncovered.”

1 His disciples questioned him, (and) they said to him: “ Do you want us to fast? And how should we pray and give alms? And what diet should we observe?”
2 Jesus says: “Do not lie.
3 And do not do what you hate.
4 For everything is disclosed in view of.

6 And there is nothing covered that will remain undisclosed.”

2 And cursed is the human that the lion will eat, and the lion will become human.”

1 And he said, “The human one is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of little fish.
2 Among them the wise fisherman discovered a fine large fish.
3 He threw all the little fish back into the sea, and chose the large fish without difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

1 And he says: “The human being is like a sensible fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea filled with little fish.
2 Among them the sensible fisherman found a large, fine fish.
3 He threw all the little fish back into the sea, (and) he chose the large fish effortlessly.
4 Whoever has ears to hear should hear.”
1 그리고 그분께서 말씀하시기를, “그 사람은 지혜로운 어부와 같다. 그 사람은 바다에 그물을 던져 작은 물고기들을 가득 건져 올렸다.
2 그 중에서 지혜로운 어부는 멋지고 큰 고기 한 마리를 찾았다.
3 그 사람은 작은 고기들을 모두 다시 바다에 던져놓고 어렵지 않게 큰 고기를 골랐다.
4 누구라도 들을 귀가 있으면 듣게 하라.”

1 그리고 그께서 가라사대 “사람된 자는 슬기로운 어부와도 같도다. 그는 그의 그물을 바다에 던져 작은 고기가 가득 찬 채로 바다로부터 끌어올리는 도다.
2 그 가득한 고기 가운데서 슬기로운 어부는 잘생긴 큰 고기 한 마리를 발견하는 도다.
3 그는 모든 작은 고기를 다시 바다 속으로 던져 버린다. 그리고 어려움 없이 큰 고기 한 마리를 가려 얻는다.
4 들을 귀가 있는 자들이여 누구든지 들어라.”

1 Jesus said, “Look, the sower went out, took a handful of seeds, and scattered them.
2 Some fell on the road, and the birds came and pecked them up.
3 Others fell on rock, did not take root in the soil, and did not produce heads of grain.
4 Others fell on thorns, and they chocked the seeds and worms devoured them.
5 And others fell on good soil, and it brought forth a good crop. It yields sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure.”

1 Jesus says: “Look, a sower went out. He filled his hands hands (with seeds), (and) he scattered (them).
2 Some fell on the path, and the birds came and pecked them up.
3 Others fell on the rock, and did not take root in the soil, and they did not put forth ears.
4 And others fell among the thorns, they choked the seeds, and worms ate them.
5 And others fell on good soil, and it produced good fruit. It yielded sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure.”
1 예수께서 말씀하시기를, “보라! 파종하는 자가 씨앗을 듬뿍 쥐고 나가 그것들을 뿌렸다.
2 더러는 길 위에 떨어져 새가 와서 먹어 버렸다.
3 더러는 바위 위에 떨어져 흙에 뿌리를 내리지 못해 이삭을 내지 못했다.
4 그리고 더러는 가시덤불에 떨어져 가시가 씨앗을 질식시켰고 벌레가 먹어버렸다.
5 그리고 나머지는 좋은 토양 위에 떨어져 훌륭한 열매를 내었다. 씨앗은 육십 배 백이십 배 소출을 내었다.”

2 The dead are not alive, and the living will not die.
3 In the days when you ate what is dead, you made it alive. When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do?
4 on the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?”

1 The followers said to Jesus, “We know that you are going to leave us. Who will be our leader?”
2 Jesus said to them, “Wherever you are, you are to go to James the Righteous, for whose sake heaven and earth came into being.”

1 Jesus said to his disciples, “Compare me to something and tell me what I am like.”
2 Simon Peter said to him, “You are like a righteous angel.”
3 Matthew said to him, “You are like a wise philosopher.”
4 Thomas said to him, “Teacher, my mouth is utterly unable to say what you are like.”
5 Jesus said, “I am not your teacher. Because you have drunk, you have become intoxicated from the bubbling spring that I have tended.”
6 And he took him, and withdrew, and spoke three sayings to him.
7 When Thomas came back to his friends, they asked him, “What did Jesus say to you?”
8 Thomas said to them, “If I tell you one of the sayings he spoke to me, you will pick up rocks and stone me, and fire will come from the rocks and devour you.”

6 And he took him, (and) withdrew, (and) he said three words to him.
7 But when Thomas came back to his companions, they asked him: “What did Jesus say to you?”
8 Thomas said to them: “If I tell you one of the words he said to me, you will pick up stones and throw them at me, and fire will come out of the stones (and) burn you up.”
1 예수께서 따르는 자들에게 말씀하시기를, “나를 누군가와 비교해보고 내가 누구와 같은지 말해 보라.”
2 시몬 베드로가 예수께 말씀드렸다: “당신은 의로운 천사와 같습니다.”
3 마태가 예수께 말씀드렸다: “당신은 지혜로운 철학자 같습니다.”
4 도마가 예수께 말씀드렸다: “스승님, 당신이 누구와 같은지 저의 입으로 전혀 말할 수 없습니다.”
5 예수께서 말씀하시기를, “나는 너의 스승이 아니다. 너는 내가 마련해 놓은 광천샘을 마셨기에 취하였구나.”
6 그리고 도마를 데리고 물러나 그에게 세 가지를 말씀하셨다.
7 도마가 친구들에게 돌아오니 그들이 물었다. “예수께서 너에게 무엇을 말하시든가?”
8 도마가 그들에게 대답했다: “내가 예수께서 내게 말씀하신 것 중 한 가지라도 너희에게 말한다면, 너희가 돌을 들어 나에게 던질 것이며, 그 돌들에서 불이 나와 너희를 태워버릴 것이다.”

5 예수께서 가라사대 “나는 그대의 스승도 아니로다. 그대는 내가 보살펴온, 부글부글 솟아오르는 광천샘으로부터 직접 많이 마셨기에 취하였도다.”
6 그리고 예수께서 도마만을 데리고 은밀한 곳으로 가시었다. 그리고 도마에게 세 마디 말씀을 전하였다.
7 도마가 그의 친구들이 있는 곳으로 되돌아왔을 때에 그들이 도마에게 물었다. “예수께서 너에게 무엇을 말씀하셨느뇨?”
8 도마가 그들에게 대답하여 하였다. “내가 예수께서 나에게 하신 말씀 중 하나만 너희에게 이야기해도 너희들은 돌을 주워 나를 쳐죽이려고 것이다. 그리하면 너희 손에 있는 그 돌로부터 불길이 솟아 너희들을 삼켜버릴 것이다.”
제14장

1 Jesus said to them, “If you fast, you will bring sin upon yourselves;
2 and if you pray, you will be condemned;
3 and if you give alms, you will do harm to your sprits.
4 When you go into any land and walk about in the countryside, when people take you in, eat what they serve you and heal the sick among them.
5 For what goes into your mouth will not defile you; rather, it is what comes out of your mouth that will defile you.”

1 Jesus said to them: If you fast, you will bring forth sin for yourselves.

5 너희 입으로 들어가는 것이 너희를 더럽게 하지 않고, 너희 입으로부터 나오는 것, 바로 그것이 너희를 더럽게 하는 것이기 때문이다.”

2 They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts upon the earth: fire, sword, and war.
3 For there will be five in a house: there will be three against two and two against three, father against son and son against father,
4 and they will stand alone.”

2 But they do not know that I have come to cast dissension upon the earth: fire, sword, war.

1 예수께서 말씀하시기를, “아마도 사람들은 내가 세상에 평화를 주러 온 줄 알 것이다.

5 For this reason I say, if the owner of a house knows that a thief is coming, he will be on guard before the thief arrives and will not let the thief break into the house of his estate and steal his goods.
6 As for you, then, be on guard against the world.
7 Arm yourselves with great strength lest the robbers find a way to get to you,
8 for the trouble you expect will surely come.
9 Let there be among you a person who understands.
10 When the crop ripened, the person came quickly with sickle in hand and harvested it.

5 That person said to the servant, ' I have bought a house and I have been called away for the day. I shall have no time.'

7 That person said to the servant, ' My friend is to be married and I am to arrange the banquet. I shall not be able to come. I ask to be excused from the dinner.'
8 The servant went to another and said to that one, ' My master invites you.'
9 That person said to the servant, ' I have just bought a farm, and I am on my way to collect the rent. I shall not be able to come. I ask to be excused.'
10 The servant returned and said to his master, ' The people whom you invited to dinner have asked to be excused.'
11 The master said to his servant, ' Go out on the streets and bring back whomever you find to have dinner.'

1 He said, “There was a man(usurer) who owned a vineyard. He leased it to tenant farmers so that they might work it and he might collect its produce from them.
2 He sent his servant so that the tenants might give him the produce of the vineyard.
3 They seized his servant and beat him, all but killing him. The servant went back and told his master.
4 The master said, ' Perhaps he(they) did not recognize them(him or you).'
5 He sent another servant. The tenants beat this one as well.
6 Then the owner sent his son and said, ' Perhaps they will show respect to my son.'
7 Because the tenants knew that it was he who was the heir to the vineyard, they seized him and killed him.
8 Whoever has ears should hear.”
